The GreenFjord GreenFjord science team has successfully finished their studies on the sailboat Forel. 😀
We took our measurements in the Fjord of Ikersuaq, Brederfjord and Sermilik. Ice conditions were challenging, because the fjord is full of large icebergs. Nevertheless we were able to collect the data we were interested in.

Now a new team has left with the research vessel of Sanna that was docked at Narsaq for the last two days.

An update from the Fjords around Narsaq 😊
We have been at sea now for 3 days with a team of 7 researchers from GreenFjord on the sailboat called Forel. This is the first science mission of the Forel, the new Swiss science ship.
At the moment we are exploring the depth of the Fjords and take water samples to measure the plankton, the salinity and temperature. In the atmosphere we look for sea spray particles and vapors that come from the ocean and that will form clouds later on.
There is still sea ice at the exit of the fjords and really large icebergs that came from the north.
We are scheduled to be back in the harbor of Narsaq in the morning of 9 July. Stay tuned for more updates! 😊
