At the end of their 2025 field season, the GreenFjord team is organising a community outreach event in Southwest Greenland. The event will take place in Narsaq 2-4 September and Qaqortoq on 5 September, with the aim to engage the local community, schools, and everyone interested in the research that has been performed by GreenFjord in the region over the past years. Narsaq, 2-4 September 2025
Members of the GreenFjord team will organise a community event in Narsaq on 2-4 September 2025. The programme consists of guided visits of the main research facilities – the sailing vessel Forel and the Narsaq International Research Sation (NIRS), a friendly football match, traditional music, kaffeemik, an outdoor science fair, and engaging school activities to allow the local community to learn more about the research of the GreenFjord programme.
Qaqortoq, 5 September 2025
On 5 September 2025, members of the GreenFjord team will hold in Qaqortoq a stakeholder workshop with various members of the SW Greenland community to showcase some of the main findings of their research in the area since 2021. This event will be accompanied by school outreach activities and traditional music.
